Stachys byzantina Seeds

This perennial attracts the wool carder bee (Anthidium manicatum). A wonderful solitary bee that uses the wool from the plant to make its nest. You can see the bee in the photos. 

Other pollinators also use the plant for nectar. 

 

These are best sown outside in Autumn in gritty low nutrient compost. I scatter mine in an area of pea shingle and let nature take its course, this ensures there's no drying out.
